Risk Disclosures
Related risk factors and considerations.
1. VOLATILITY
The coin and gold market is subject to price fluctuations. The markets could go up or down at any given time. Investor must be able to sustain any and all adverse market conditions. U.S. Gold Exchange, Inc doesn’t guarantee or make any promises that the investor or buyer can sell their investment for a profit in the future.
2. DIVERSIFYING INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS
U.S. Gold Exchange,Inc. highly recommends that each and every investor maintain a diversified portfolio in standard fixed and equity as well insured investments. It is of our opinion that an investment portfolio in coins and bullion products could be in the range of 10% to 30% of a portfolio.
3. LIQUIDATION
If and when you decide to sell your coins or bullion products. We would like the opportunity to bid on your portfolio of gold products. The law prohibits us from guaranteeing to repurchase the coins or gold we sell. Many market conditions will affect the resale of gold products with prices subject to change daily or even hourly.
4. RISK
All investments entail risk and no investor should invest monies that can’t afford a loss with associated risks. The precious metals market is speculative, unregulated, and prices rise and fall over periods of time. Bullion coins (e.g. American Eagle, Maple Leaf,South African Krugerrand) are determined and based on the current spot price of the precious metal. The value of semi-numismatic, rare, or other currency coin is determined by many factors including but not limited to scarcity, condition, date, grade, year, and economic factors. These items may not be suitable to everyone because the markets go down and up in value and can change dramatically in either direction. You should evaluate and consider an investment in rare coins or the precious metal markets based on having adequate cash reserves to sustain adverse market conditions. You should consult with your independent financial advisor before disposing any security including but not limited to stocks, annuities, certified deposits, IRA’s, or other equity held positions to acquire precious metals, rare coins or related products.
5. DELIVERY
All our products are delivered by means of U.S. insured postal deliveries or other certified and bonded carriers. All products are insured for full value and are fully replaced if lost in the process of shipping. Please inspect the shipment completely and thoroughly upon receiving your order and that the items tracked and listed on the delivery invoice are complete and enclosed. Any difference in the order must be reported within (4) days of receipt of your shipment and you must have all original packing materials in place.
6. U.S. GOLD EXCHANGE, INC PRICES
Because of expenses and costs associated with the acquisition and buy and sell of rare coins and precious metals a spread or price differential is applied to each transaction. A typical spread on bullion coins is approximately 5% to 9%. Although higher or lower spreads may exist in certain instances, typically, the spread for relative common coins or semi-numismatic coins is between 5% and 26%. Individual Retirement Accounts carry a spread between 5% and 24% spread. To earn or receive a profit your bullion or coins would have to appreciate in value to overcome the spreads. The prices determined are set internally by many factors and are not typically associated with other prices quoted or determined by other organizations or companies.
7. SALES EXECUTIVES
The sales executives at U.S. Gold Exchange are commissioned sales executives. The commissions paid to sales executives are generally greater on semi-numismatic and rare coins and less on precious metal related products. Their knowledge and work experience are diverse and vary from each individual. The sales executives are not licensed as investment advisors and are not authorized to recommend the sale or purchase of any form of investment outside U.S. Gold Exchange products. Please check with a licensed professional before making a decision to buy or sell any stock, security, or financial instrument.
8. HOLDING PERIOD
Purchasing precious metals, numismatic or rare coins are considered long term holds for 3 to 5 years and preferably 10 years to maximize profit potential. A wide variety of market conditions could affect the market to move in either direction.
9. GRADING
The value of a coin is highly associated with the condition or grade of the coin. We use the mint state (MS) grading system. Typically the higher the grade the more the coin would be worth. The grading system is based on the 70 scale grading system with the M.S. 70 being the highest grade on the scale. Most of our certified coins are graded by the two top independent grading companies - Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) or Numismatic Guarantee Corporation (NGC). Grading is subjective and it is likely and possible that a coin graded by one grading company will vary if resubmitted to another company. U.S. Gold Exchange, Inc can’t be responsible for any of the service guarantees that each grading company warrants and represents.
10. CANCELLATION POLICY
All IRA accounts carry a 4% restocking fee in the event the IRA is cancelled before the metals are shipped to the custodians or trustees storage facility. |
